Colchester YMCA offers safe, secure and supportive accommodation for 43 local vulnerable 16-25's. The accommodation and training is available for both male and female residents who are referred to us by Colchester Borough Council. In essence we provide the facilities and support normally provided by families for young people in this age group. Councillor Gamble was aware of the quality of Colchester YMCA's provision and readily agreed to accept us as one of his Chosen Charities for his Mayoral Year. Colchester YMCA Foyer, Signpost, Every Step Ltd and King Coel's Kittens all met on the 14th to celebrate the donation that has allowed the purchase of six new computers boosting each organisations work for the community. Thanks to the new equipment members of the public are now able to access the new computers to study learndirect courses and gain help with job searching. Signpost is an independent organisation (not an Employment Agency or affiliated to Job Centre Plus) with over 11 years of experience, helping people of all ages and from all walks of life to get back into work or to move on.
